Company Culture: Oversighter Spotlight Hendrik Kriek

on March 15, 2016

As part of our monthly “Company Culture” blog series, we’re publishing interviews with Oversight team members so clients and prospects can get to know us better. Started in 2015 by Oversighter Julia Versaci, this is the sixth interview in our monthly series.

The fun is in the interview, but also in what comes next. The “rules” of the interview series are that once you’ve been interviewed for the blog, the subject then picks another person in the office they’d like to get to know better to interview. It’s a fun cycle and we enjoy compiling these for you!

This month is special because it’s our first interview with a member of the Demand Generation team, Hendrik Kriek. Hendrik kindly agreed to be interviewed by a member of our blog squad (and fellow Demand Generation team member) Shauntia Lovett.

Q (Shauntia): How long have you been working for Oversight?

A (Hendrik): I’ve been with Oversight for about 14 months.

Q (Shauntia): What are some of your duties in your role?

A (Hendrik):  My duties as a DG are to research perspective clients, to find the correct person to have a meaningful interaction (MI) with, and to pitch our value proposition.

I also follow up on leads generated from different events/ conferences that Oversight participates in. Some of these events include the NAPCP conference, several Concur events and various webinars. I also help to facilitate the initial meeting between prospects and the account executives. Thereafter, I write a recap of the aforesaid conversation and the account executive takes over from there!

Q (Shauntia): How did you get started in this field?

A (Hendrik): I’ve always been interested in Sales. I heard of Oversight through a close friend and that it was a growing company with exciting opportunities. I’ve always enjoyed facilitating new relationships with new people.

Q (Shauntia): Do you have any favorite stories from your time working at Oversight?

A (Hendrik):  I remember when everyone had to dress up for Halloween. It was nice to see that most people participated, even many of the executives. This is just one experience but every day to me is pretty enjoyable because of the people I work with.

Q (Shauntia): What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

A (Hendrik): I like playing basketball and hanging out with my friends. I like to take my dogs to the dog park and I love to travel.

Q (Shauntia): What do you like the most about working for Oversight?

A (Hendrik): Oversight is a family environment and all of the employees make the job enjoyable. Also, when we speak to potential clients, I feel good because we are actually able to help them.

Q (Shauntia): Any words of wisdom that you want to share with our customers?

A (Hendrik): When dealing with expense monitoring, a lot of prospective clients don’t realize that there is something wrong or that fraud and misuse are actually occurring until its too late. Don’t be too late!

Q (Shauntia):  What’s the most important thing that you’ve learned from being a DG that you can apply to your everyday life?

A (Hendrik): Don’t get discouraged and stay organized!

Q (Shauntia): Describe Oversight in one word.

A (Hendrik) Innovative.
