As part of our monthly “Company Culture” blog series, we’re publishing interviews with Oversight team members so clients and prospects can get to know us better. Started in 2015 by Oversighter Julia Versaci, this is the seventh interview in our monthly series.
The fun is in the interview, but also in what comes next. The “rules” of the interview series are that once you’ve been interviewed for the blog, the subject then picks another person in the office they’d like to get to know better to interview. It’s a fun cycle and we enjoy compiling these for you!
This month is special because it’s our first interview with a member of the Account Executive team, Samantha Dolan, who was interviewed by last month’s spotlightee- Hendrik Kriek.
Q (Hendrik): How long have you been working for Oversight?
A (Samantha): A little over 2 years.
Q (Hendrik): What are some of your duties in your role?
A (Samantha): I’m an Account Executive, so my main responsibilities are to make sure that our Insights On Demand solution is a good fit for prospects. I also guide them through the sales process: from the initial call to the production kick off call.
Q (Hendrik): How Did You Get Started in This Area?
A (Samantha): I started as a Demand Generation Associate at Oversight then moved to Account Manager. After being an Account Manager for almost a year, I made the switch to Account Executive. I feel that both of my previous roles have helped me in my current role!
Q (Hendrik): Do you have any favorite stories from your time working at Oversight?
A (Samantha): When I first started as a DG, the other new DG and I did a “rap battle” for some of our other colleagues to win a new dry erase board. We both ended up getting a dry erase board, but I won the battle. It was a fun way to get to know Oversight and some of the people that work here.
Q (Hendrik): What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
A (Samantha): Outside of work I really enjoy watching baseball, going to concerts, and reading. The St. Louis Cardinals are my favorite baseball team so I try to watch as many of their games as I can.
I also try to go to a few different concerts every month, I really like finding new music to listen to. I enjoy nonfictions books a lot, I’m currently reading a book about the history of Russia and also just started “How to Win Friends and Influence People” because it’s one of Warren Buffett’s favorites …so I figured I should check it out.
Q (Hendrik): What do you like the most about working for Oversight?
A (Samantha): I like that Oversight is like a family, I’ve made some really good friends working here. I also like that everyone who works here is always willing to help you if you need it.
Q (Hendrik): Any words of wisdom that you want to share with our customers?
A (Samantha): You have nothing to lose by doing the free trial. You’ll get the chance to see the solution with your actual data and you’ll also have access to the system to see how it would enhance your current review process.
Q (Hendrik): What is your favorite part of being an Account Executive?
A (Samantha): I like that every day is different and that I always have a lot going on, it makes the days interesting.
Q (Hendrik): What piece of advice would you have for anyone aspiring to be an Account Executive?
A (Samantha): Being able to adapt quickly to different situations is a key part of success.
