Oversight Systems is thrilled to teaming up with The Network to host an event this week to help companies strengthen their Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) compliance initiatives for 2014. We look forward to rolling up our sleeves while we hear from experts and engage in interactive discussion to get to the heart of the matter and walk away inspired to take action. The event will feature renowned compliance experts Tom Fox, Stephan Martin (Baker & McKenzie Compliance Consulting) and Joel Androphy (civil and criminal law expert) as they share their knowledge, key trends and best practices. Specifically it is our hope attendees will walk away with an action plan for how to build and leverage an ethical culture, bolstered by emerging technologies such as transaction monitoring and analysis, to improve defensibility against Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations. We also explore the differences between civil and criminal trials and Joel Androphy will discuss his experience as one of the few attorneys to successfully defend an individual charged with an FCPA violation. I along with my colleague, Jimmy Lin, Vice President of Product Management & Corporate Development of The Network, will close out the day discussing the tools, cutting edge technology and best techniques for ethics and compliance processes and systems to turn compliance big data into resources that will bolster an organization’s defensibility. Check back on the Oversight blog for a recap of the event, key take aways and shared ideas. Read Patrick Taylor’s recent The Network guest blog post, “Answer to Sunshine Act Compliance Offers More than Just Reports”, for his take on Sunshine Act compliance. In the meantime we would love to hear from you: what is your number one concern with regards to FCPA compliance and what would you like to see better addressed in terms of compliance initiatives for 2014?
