Oversight is seeking an innovative and experienced senior software product management leader who is highly knowledgeable in Accounts Payable (AP) operations to grow and innovate our AP client focused products. As a leader on our growing team, you will be working cross functionally to design, build, support go-to-market activities and messaging, and ultimately drive market adoption in alignment with Oversight’s strategy and vision.
In this role, the Product Leader will identify potential new products and new features for existing products through extensive market research, internal and external ideation, and support the development of appropriate business cases for investment. In this highly visible position within the company, the person filling this role will be asked to leverage past experience and knowledge around Accounts Payable in a way that that can be translated into technical and functional requirements for Oversight’s software platform, as well as publish product release timelines and go to market plans. The ideal candidate possesses technical know-how and business acumen, is skilled at prioritization, and communicates effectively to influence, collaborate and educate teams within the organization – as well as prospects and influencers outside of Oversight.
Responsibilities include product requirements definition and roadmap development, partnering with engineering and leading product focused meetings. The successful candidate will have experience in driving market research, product launch planning, and overall solution design – or supported the implementation of software applications that delivered efficiency in the Accounts Payable function. This product leader will act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding throughout the company and throughout the broader market.
5+ years Accounts Payable and/or Accounting Operations Experience
Experience using software technology to drive business results on behalf of the Finance / Accounting function
Proven ability to identify and communicate thought leadership and business process success within the Accounting functional discipline.
Knowledge of financial business processes
Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making
Track record partnering with data engineering and data science teams to build environments that support cutting edge data-driven innovation
Track record of successfully sponsoring or helping to implement strategic business process change within the Accounts Payable and/or Accounting Operational function.
Leadership experience with early/mid-stage companies or high-growth divisions within larger organizations.
Experience building business cases to support key business and technology solutions within the Accounting or business operations function.
Analyze and evaluate complementary alternative technology solutions
Conduct user research to understand user/buyer needs and work with engineering to identify solution to key business needs.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize business requirements / functional needs to improve overall success of a technology product or overall business process.
Collaborate with User Interface/User Experience Team to deliver a best-in-class user experience, based on the needs of Accounting Operations / Accounts Payable.
Define product success metrics and analyze product performance by driving product adoption.
Assist with general marketing activities and strategies as requested/appropriate.
Partner with sales teams and provide necessary support to ensure sales success.
Use of any product management or project management software development tools including JIRA.
Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities, including the ability to effectively communicate with both business/functional and highly technical individuals
Strong analytical skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information
Strong leadership and team-building skills, including ability to work cross-functionally.
Experience with data analytics and analysis
Experience and interest in supporting leadership sponsors to improve overall business process quality, with an emphasis in the Accounting function
Strong problem-solving skills, computer skills and excellent organizational skills
Bachelor’s Degree is required, Masters preferred.
